What should you consider before launching a DTF printing business?

DTF printing is a process where designs are printed onto a special PET film, followed by the application of adhesive powder, curing, and finally transferring the design onto fabric. To begin, you’ll need three key pieces of equipment: a DTF printer, a curing oven, and a heat press machine.
As with any new technology, becoming proficient in DTF printing requires time and practice. Initially, you might encounter challenges with cleaning and maintenance, but as you gain experience, the process will become more manageable.
Launching a business is never easy, and it’s crucial to assess your return on investment carefully. For beginners, we suggest starting with a cost-effective setup or sourcing transfer films from a reliable supplier.
Investing in high-quality consumables is vital for producing excellent print results and ensuring the longevity of your business. Poor-quality materials can cause problems such as fading, inconsistent prints, and clogging, which can interrupt your workflow.
It’s also a good idea to keep a stock of consumables and blank items ready, as order volumes can fluctuate. Being prepared allows you to fulfill orders promptly. Furthermore, since printheads generally have a lifespan of 6 to 12 months, keeping replacement parts on hand will help maintain smooth operations and prevent unexpected downtime.

We introduced two cutting-edge systems for DTF printers—— Procolored Siphon Circulation System and Procolored Printhead Safeguard System. Thanks to these two systems, the lifespan of the printhead has been extended by 70%, while aging damage to the ink tubes has been reduced by 90%.

We launched a brand-new auto heat press that features knob switch for easier value adjustment, and automatic closing and opening heating pad —— A high-quality printer is just the beginning of achieving effortless printing, but rest assured, Procolored has taken care of everything else for you.

In January 2025, we launched our first Kickstarter project —— K Series DTF Printer project.
